This Blog Is Being Retired
Now that the semester is over, I have time to retire this blog and move the whole shebang over to Tumblr.  The new site will have a link to this blog (once I figure out how to do that).

The new site is HERE!

Carry on.
Wikileaks, Julian Assange, Finals and SNL
I chose to do one of my finals this semester on Wikileaks.  Thus, I have been seeing Julian Assange everywhere, even in my dreams (ick), and now done to perfection on SNL.

Creature Fritzerson
As most of Facebook knows, Jamie and Tim's combined genetic creation was forcibly extracted Tuesday morning, Dec 7 2010.

Vitals:
Gender: boy
Weight: 7 lbs 14 oz
Length: 20.5 inches
Name: ????????????????????????????

As they have been calling him "Creature" the entire time she was pregnant, they are apparently in no rush to pick a real name.  Actually they are, they just can't agree on one.  So, Creature Fritzerson it is for another day at least.  (Fritzerson = Fritz + Peterson)

Creature was actually due Nov 29 and was apparently quite happy not going anywhere, as a last minute induction a week late went nowhere and forced a c-section.  Poor Jamie. :-(

Both Jamie and Tim are exhausted but doing well.  Tim has turned into SuperDad less than 24 hours after having a son and Jamie is already a worrywart when Creature is not with her.

Here are the required lots of adorable pics of someone else's newborn that no one else cares about but family and friends.  He is definitely a cutie.

This Summer -- Wyatt
In July I broke my foot.  Right after my boot came off, Wyatt ruptured his back right CCL (ACL in humans).  Thus all our summer hiking and camping plans were shot to hell.  Tomorrow will be two weeks since his surgery and he is doing ok, considering he has been on house arrest since then and will be for the next two months.  He is no fan of the massive amount of pills I have to shove down his throat every day (we moved past the Pill Pockets and hot dog/hamburger tricks long ago, nothing works anymore.)  But he is doing ok.

This Summer -- Telluride Film Festival
Catching up again.....Labor Day was spent bartending at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado.  People I made drinks for/socialized with/bumped into this year included Ken Burns (he's always there), Laura Linney, Colin Firth, James Franco, Peter Sellers (the director, not the dead British guy), Geoffrey Rush, Carey Mulligan (again), Danny Boyle and Aron Ralston.  Movies to check out: 127 Hours, Black Swan and TABLOID.

Ignite Salt Lake
The speakers for Ignite Salt Lake 5 were just announced and I was chosen to speak! My title is "Celebrate The Freedom Of Your Nation By Blowing Up A Small Part Of It" and will be about fireworks. It is August 18 at The State Room, everyone (21+) is welcome! Check out what Ignite Salt Lake is here: Ignite Salt Lake

Walkin' Around On A Broken Leg - Bluejuice
My theme song of the moment, even though only my foot is broken and not my whole leg.  When you're on crutches in a huge ass boot, its all the same.

Inception - See It Now
A group of us were lucky enough to see this film at a press screening last week.  If you have not seen it, do not walk, run to your theater. Stay away from all reviews and major spoilers until you see it but see it now.  It is mind-blowingly amazing.

Happenings of Late

So many things have happened in the past few months that I haven't had time to write about them (or pretty much anything for that matter, see all previous posts with only pictures and minimal or no words.)  I have been working a lot and haven't had a lot of time to spend writing anything more than 140 characters that doesn't involve work.  Thus, I bring you an update, in bullet form.

  • In January I was promoted to a different department at work.  What I do is....hell, it's impossible to explain what I do.  Sometimes even I don't know what my job description is.  I do lots of stuff and manage stuff and query stuff and know processes and research processes and change processes and and and....
  • I am now an official graduate student at the University of Utah!  I start my Masters program in biotechnology this August!  Yay for being poor(er) for 3 years!  Wooooooo....
  • My littlest sister graduated from high school (MVHS, MVHS the best) and my second littlest sister graduated from BYU with a degree in music.  There are only so many graduations a person can handle in a 3 week period, and it's less than two.
  • I get to meet Anthony Bourdain on Saturday.  Just throwing that out there.
  • LOST ended.  And with it, part of my life.  *sob*
  • I stopped playing WoW.  I KNOW!  Well, I only have time to work, tweet, walk the dog and sleep, and with grad school coming up that addiction and expenditure had to be bailed pretty fast.

But by far the best update bullet is......

  • I'M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!!!!!!

Jamie and Tim are due Nov 29!  Or, as Tim put it when he announced it to the world on Facebook:

Timothy Fritz Watch out world, I have an offspring coming your way. What does this mean? Tim's army has grown by one! I'm going to be a Daddy.

Of course our mother is THRILLED TO DEATH about finally getting an honest-to-god, not-a-canine grandchild.  Jamie and Tim are refusing to find out if it's a boy or girl (which just means they get loads of green and yellow stuff from me), and Tim is already planning on getting a sidecar for his motorcycle.  (Jamie said no to the sidecar.)

That's it for now.  Cheers!
