Apparently Google is having issues
A bunch of my images have gone MIA and logging into the backend of Blogger has been a royal pain. A couple days ago, Gmail account holders (including me) couldn't get into their email. Now if you go to the Blogger Help Group forums for help with blogging issues, you can't get into half of the forums because it says they no longer exist, when they were working fine yesterday. Think for a minute what would happen if Google was hacked or totally crashed.... I have always been against completely digitizing every part of life because of what could happen when someone pulled the plug. Americans wouldn't know how to function without their internet or computers. Take down the entire global network and see what would happen.
Deep Thoughts
It is easier for me to blog in my head than it is to type it out, in understandable and grammatically correct English, in a form that flows and allows others to know what I am thinking. There have been many times where an insightful, witty, verbose blog on a random topic has rambled through my head as I was cleaning the toilet, only to be enjoyed by neighboring neurons and perhaps the toilet brush. In an effort to improve my rapidly declining writing ability (sequencing DNA every day does not lend much in the way of creative writing), I am forcing my mental blogs out. They will, most certainly, sound odd, strange, stupid or even wrong. Hopefully they will get better with time...as with my ability to converse verbally with people not currently in Azeroth.

A Deep Thought (or observation, rather)
When shopping for shoes, it is wise to not try on the most expensive and elaborate shoes first. This is especially true when shopping for running shoes or hiking boots. While comfort may not be at the top of the list of requirements for, say, Manolo Blahniks, that is the main point of athletic shoes. Sure I can run in my high heeled boots, maybe even hike, but every muscle, ligament and tendon in my lower extremities will declare war shortly thereafter; if I make it down the mountain without killing myself first. Comfort is very important. So of course, the more expensive these shoes are, the more likely they are to be very comfortable. It is best for your wallet if you do not start with the Merrells and Keens and work your way down to the Columbias and Aspens. After trying on those $110 Merrell hiking boots that not only look good on, but also have more tread than my snowtires and are more comfortable than my flipflops(!), nothing else can even compare. Everything else is just going to seem extra tight, more uncomfortable and not nearly as cool looking. Starting with Merrells just screws you over. I mention this because recently I was dumb enough to do just that. What did I get for it? A kick ass pair of new hiking boots that could get me up unplowed Teton Pass faster than a SnowCat and a very noticible $90 deficit in my budget (they were on sale). I'm wearing them. I love them.
Jenny's Adventures
Back in college, a verbal history was started entitled "Jenny's Adventures." By the end of 4 years at the University of Utah, Jenny's Adventures had somewhere around 20+ chapters, many with co-authors, footnotes, subtitles and references. When I joined the real working world, Jenny's Adventures was left by the wayside and forgotten. Then I started a blog, mainly for pure kicks and giggles, but starting the blog reminded me of those Adventures...and oh, what adventures they were. There was the vulture and the schmuck, the endless parade of oddball roommates, and the autopsy stench that would never leave.

Even though it has only been 5 years since I graduated, I have forgotten most of my stories and adventures. It makes me sad to realize that I can forget so much in such a short period. At this rate, what am I going to remember when I'm 70 or 80? Who besides me cares, anyway? So I am blogging mainly for myself and my own sanity, but also anyone who knows me knows well enough that I love to tell stories. That is how Jenny's Adventures started in the first place. Now I call it Kamikaze Adventuring.....because galavanting into Feralas as a level 20 is a BAD IDEA.
Aw, your blog is so cute
Everyone is coming up with these cute pretty fabulously detailed blogs lately. Its the new scrapbooking. So just because I want to be like everyone else, I am changing my rarely-used, depressingly dark blog to something with a little more color. Because I definitely need more brown in my wardrobe.
